Community Black Diamond Awards

Entrepreneur of the Year is awarded to a Black BRAND member whose business success is evident. The ideal candidate is a staple in the community who reaches back to help others and whose business had stand out activity in 2021.

Youth Entrepreneur of the Year is awarded to a student entrepreneur exhibiting both academic and business success at a high level. The ideal nominee should have exceptional grades, a positive attitude, an above average work ethic, a commitment to their community, and demonstrated business skills.

Power Couple of the Year is awarded to a dynamic duo whose success in marriage and business have catapulted them to local or regional high regard. The ideal nominees should have a focus on giving back to their community, mentoring others, and

growing wealth.

Unsung Hero is awarded to an individual whose efforts to assist others in business may typically go unrecognized. The ideal candidate may be a city employee, a small business consultant or coach, or an exceptional volunteer.

Best Pivot is awarded to a candidate who has established their business or organization as viable and even thriving in 2021. For consideration, their business needed to have made significant adjustments in order to stay in business with demonstrable resilience in the process.

Nonprofit Of The Year is a new category for Black Diamond Weekend 2021. It is awarded to a nonprofit whose measurable impact has resulted in greater visibility, increased funding, and the ability to serve more people.

Community Ambassador is a new category for Black Diamond Weekend 2021. It is awarded to a corporate, government, or philanthropic leader whose work to support local nonprofits has resulted in a healthier, more stable community.
